Welcome to the Star Wars Games page. Here are reviews of all the games that is set in the Star Wars universe.
Dark Forces - I actually won this game in a competition, when I
still had my loyal 486, so speed was a major problem back then.
Since I don't particularly enjoy Doom type games, Dark Forces
remains a "stand-by" game, just in case I am that
bored. Definetly one of the better Doom clones with tons of added
extras, although now standard in games, but revolutionary at the
time. I think it was the last game without CD quality music, a
real disapointment.

Dark Forces 2 :
Jedi Knight - Pretty good game, and runs well on my P166MMX. Although fans of quake and
its clones will be disappointed by its still Dark Forces 1 graphics(now with SVGA options and 3DFX support). I have yet to try the 3DFX
version but I bet like all other 3DFX games, its going to be the icing on the cake.

Rebel Assualt -
The first "proper" CD-ROM
game for the PC. It has sold millions of copies and is considered
one of the best games ever. Its simple shoot'em up appeal may
only last a short while as interactivity is limited.

Rebel Assualt 2
- Good, CD quality music, WAY better graphics that the first, funny and
original scenes that are real eye openers sometimes! Pretty cool for a
while, but like the first the limited game play gets old. Thanks to Jakers for that review. It gets the same
score as the first game.

Tie Fighters
(floppy and CD) - Sequel
to X-Wing, and one hell of a game. Improved everything
upon X-Wing, graphics, sound, music, and it allows you
to play the bad guys for once. "Die rebel scum".

X-Wing (floppy)
- I would say the
first (correct me if I am wrong) and finest of all Lucasarts' PC
creations. Defined the 3D space flight simulator genre, although
with primitive polygon graphics and little digital sound, still
worth a look. Get the CD-ROM version if you can.

X-Wing (CD) - The first game that I brought from the Starwars
series. If you've played the original, getting this is a must. It
comes with all the addon campaiges and feature hours of digital
speech (mission briefing) from Clive Revill (voice of Emperor in
Empire Strike Back) and Erik Boauersfeld (voice of Akbar in
Return of the Jedi). Pity it doesn't have CD quality music, as
less than 200MB of space is used on the CD.

Yoda Stories - What the hell is this? Lucasarts' usual talent
for making excellent games does not appear to be present here. I
guess if you really liked top down RPGs, you could play it for a
while, and its random storyline maker is pretty nice. But it
really look and feel like a freeware program. Maybe Lucasarts
should have bundled it with every new game they produce, kind of
like a crappy gift. One for serious fans of RPG.

X-Wing VS Tie
Fighters - Any game
that moves to the Win95/Directx platform suffers one problem,
speed. Although on my 166MMX it runs pretty good, some with
lesser machines might feel cheated thinking back to the
specifications needed to play X-Wing or Tie Fighters.
I thought it lacked a proper mission structure, but the music was
a godsend. The 180MB full installation gives me a headache.
